Settling In
Airport Pickups
If you need an airport transfer, email Malee your flight details so she can arrange it for you. Please do not contact Chantal or I to organize this. Her email is reservations@nasookresort.com
On arrival
At the airport, I strongly recommend you buy a local sim card for your phone and take the data and phone option. Then, exit the terminal and look for a man with a sign saying your name. They may be standing a little back, with the other drivers, behind a barrier. That man will likely be Chok. His English is very limited, but he's kind, helpful, and a safe driver. Just smile and say thank you. He will take care you to the hotel reception, where you provide your passport to register, and pay the balance owing before being shown to your villa. Credit cards are accepted and incur a 3% fee. Meals may be charged to your room.
Pool use
Please always rinse off before entering the pool. Do not put sunscreen or mozzie repellant on before taking a dip. Do not eat or drink from glass in the pool. Please don’t play music by the pool or use speaker phone/ speak on your phone loudly. The pool is a place for quiet relaxation and noise from that central place radiates to all surrounding villas. Note that chemicals are added to the water after dark, so night swimming isn’t the best idea.
Smoking and Vaping
A condition of staying at any of the Marigold properties, is that you agree to abide by a no smoking policy. The rooms we secure are all NON-SMOKING ROOMS and if you sneakily smoke inside, it affects the quality of the stay for guests who come after you. (Ashtrays are only present as they are required for insurance purposes).
Toilet
As there is no sewerage treatment plan in all Krabi, the hotel uses a seepage system so waste entering the ocean has been naturally filtered first. As such, please don’t flush the toilet paper down the toilet. Place it in the waste basket next to the toilet and it will be removed daily.
Shampoo & Shower Gel
You’ll find shampoo and shower gel in your bathroom. BYO conditioner. You will also find a hair dryer, but not an iron. The white towels are for in your villa and blue towels are for the pool and beach.
Cleaning
Trash is generally cleared daily and towels replaced every 3 days. Bedding is changed weekly, when a servicing of the villa is done.
Internet
There is free WiFi in all rooms and around the property. Please try not to suck up all the data by watching endless movies though as this will make it unusable for other guests.
Plug types
Please click here to see what types of plugs are used in Thailand.
Umbrellas
There are two umbrellas provided in each villa, usually in the wardrobe.
Safe
Most villas have a safe. If you don’t have one, then just request one from Reception.
Shared Resources
There is a purple plastic crate containing shared resources that Marigolds may borrow. Items are not for use by other guests and must be returned in good condition when you depart or passed on to another Marigold to use and return. If you break something, then please ensure you replace it. Shared Resources include: a coffee press/Bodum, air fryer, toastie/ jaffle press, cocktail blender, electric fans, mask & snorkel kits, coat hangers, food storage containers, etc. Please consider adding it to the Shared Resources library too.
First Aid
A sizeable first aid kit has been created, and you’ll find it in a red plastic crate. Please ONLY take what you need and replace it within 2 days with a new item. If you half-finish a tube of ointment or box of headache pills, please buy a replacement so that supplies do not dwindle or expire. Please consider adding to supplies as chances are, you or the next guest will need the First Aid kit at some stage during your stay.
Mosquitoes
Coconut soap and coconut oil or coconut moisturizer are two ESSENTIAL items everyone should buy as soon as they go shopping. Mozzies hate the smell and will generally leave you alone if you’re religious in your use of them each time you bathe, and do not use perfume or other types of moisturizer. Be diligent about keeping screens closed in your villa as mosquito-borne viruses such as Dengue fever are most unpleasant and not the kind of souvenir you’ll want to be returning home with.
Laundry
You’ll find a coin-operated washing machine and dryer in the laundry. They take 4 x 10 TB coins and the dryer is useless. The washing machine has only one setting and takes a million years to do a single load. You’ll also find a filter tap in the same building, so you can refill the two glass bottles in your villa with filtered water.
Clothes
There’s a wooden clothes rack on your veranda for drying clothes. Extra hangers are available from the shared resources crate. Please ensure they are returned afterwards. Chances are you won’t want to take all your clothes home with you when you depart. Please leave them in a neat little pile on the sofa, along with a tip for the cleaner.
Shoes
Please remove your shoes before entering your villa. Shoes are not won inside buildings in Thailand.
Foodstuffs
Please keep the area tidy and do not leave foodstuffs out on the bench once they have been opened. This is due to ants and mice. Place them I your fridge or inside of a plastic container. When you leave, please distribute unused food to other Marigolds and throw away leftovers and food that is half-eaten, unless you feel the cleaner would appreciate it.
Rainy Day?
Did you know there’s an air-conditioned room above the restaurant, which is perfect for games nights? Ask Reception or the Restaurant for the key. Please ensure you turn off the lights/ AC and leave it as you found it before locking up.
