Packing List

I’m often asked what guests should pack for a month at the Marigold in Krabi, so below is a checklist that combines what I would recommend, and what past guests suggest. First though: what you WON’T want to pack, as you can get it there cheap enough to purchase, or its simply not needed, or its not appropriate:

Leave the following at home :

  • Umbrella (Available in your villa)

  • Shower gel & shampoo (Available in your villa)

  • Cigarettes/ vapes (No smoking at the hotel)

  • Hair dryer (available in your villa)

  • Insect repellant (Reality available there)

  • Towel (blue pool and beach towels are available from the hotel)

  • Warm clothing (It’s hot there all year)

  • Alcohol (Cheap enough in Thailand)

  • Torn shorts/ jeans (Thais regard this as a sign that you are either poor or don’t care about your appearance)

  • T-shirts with offensive slogans

Clothes to pack:

  • 1 x Loose-fitting, pattered cotton dress (that won’t show sweat marks or dirt

  • 1 x Loose-fitting, pattered cotton trousers (that won’t show sweat marks or dirt)

  • 2 x Shorts that are not revealing (mid-length is more appropriate than short)

  • 3 x Loose-fitting cotton t-shirts

  • Loose-fitting long-sleeved cotton shirt (for wearing in temples and warding off mosquitoes)

  • Hoodie

  • Swimsuits (2x)

  • Long-sleeved rash guard top (1x)

  • 6 x COTTON underwear (breathable and absorbs sweat)

  • Wide brimmed hat (optional as you can buy there if you prefer)

Other things to pack:

  • Mask & snorkel set (you can get them there but they fit poorly and often leak)

  • Coral friendly sunscreen

  • Personal first aid kit and medications

  • 1 x slide-on shoes

  • 1 x sandals that can be worn in the water and on land

  • 1 x enclosed walking shoes
