My Expat Story - I Moved to Thailand

Decades ago, Dawn relocated from the United Kingdom to ‘the Lucky Country’, Australia. There, she worked in the disability sector until 2024, when she opted for an early retirement.

After selling her home in Victoria, assessing Bali, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Thailand as possible places to retire to, Dawn was drawn back to the coastal city of Hua Hin, south of Bangkok, and made an offer on a house there.

As the process of migration can be complex for those who don’t speak, read or write Thai, she wisely hired a migration agent. They helped her open a bank account and they submitted her retirement visa application. Within two weeks, that will be through and Dawn’s life-makeover will be slip into Drive.
