I WANT TO STAY IN TOUCH!

Dear Marigold Community,

This is not an easy message to write, but it is an important one. After much thought, I have decided to close The Marigold Lifestyle Facebook group and step away from social media.

For the past year, I have endured ongoing harassment, stalking, and threats from a faceless troll who calls herself Rose Thompson. I do not know this person, nor do I believe we have ever met. Yet, she has made it her mission to spread hatred, incite others, and even threaten my life. Sadly, her following is a stark reminder of how women can sometimes be our own worst enemies.

This has been an incredibly distressing and serious situation. After reviewing Rose Thompson’s fake profile, Australian police have identified her as a deeply disturbed individual who poses a real threat to my safety. In her rants, she has openly declared her intent to continue her harassment "until you are dead."

If this were just one delusional woman, I could ignore it. But what makes this truly chilling is that a growing number of women are cheering her on—some even facilitating her threats.

Even more heartbreaking is the betrayal from within this very community. Some members have breached privacy by sharing the names of future Marigold Krabi guests with Rose, while others have provided details of my personal movements, further fueling the harassment. This is an unforgivable violation of trust.

The Marigold Lifestyle was never meant to be this. It was created as a place of warmth, encouragement, and inspiration—a safe space for women to support one another. While many of you have embodied that spirit beautifully, these breaches have made it impossible to continue and destroyed a much-needed support network for all.

After 12 months of threats, lies, and seeing the Marigold brand twisted into copycat pages designed to spread hate, I am choosing to walk away.

To those of you who have been unwavering beacons of kindness and support—thank you. Your encouragement has meant the world to me. This is not goodbye; it’s simply the start of a new chapter, one where I prioritize me, my wellbeing, and my boundaries.

The Marigold Lifestyle magazine will continue, ensuring older women have both visibility and a voice. If you value this mission, I invite you to subscribe. Subscribers will continue to enjoy my content, discounted long-stay hotel stays, and exclusive deals. Existing bookings remain fully honored, as will all future bookings made through the website. (It is only Facebook that I am discontinuing.)

If you would like to stay in touch, I invite you to add your details below to join a confidential mailing list that only I will have access to. If I choose to reconnect our Tribe in the future, this will be how I reach you.

I wish you all joy, adventure, and fulfillment—wherever life takes you next.

With gratitude,
Chantal
